The permanent Court of International Justice has granted the request of the Greek Government to permit Mr. Kalcyannis, formerly a member of the Mixed Court in Egypt, to sit in the International Court when the case of the Greek Government against the British Government, in the matter of the electrification and irrigation of Palestine, is heard.

The Greek Government recently submitted to the International Court the claim of its citizen, M. Mavrommatis, who obtained a concession from the Turkish Government for the electrification and irrigation of Palestine, similar to the concession granted by the British Government to Pincus Rutenberg on behalf of the World Zionist Organization.

According to the Statue, when a given case comes before the Court and the latter includes a judge of the nationality of one of the parties only, the other party may select a judge ad hoc of its nationality.
