American European “reconstruction Foundation” Convenes at Brussels

The first meeting of the Joint Reconstruction Foundation, the new organization recently formed for the purpose of taking over the reconstruction work of the liquidating Joint Distribution Committee, will be opened at Brussels today.

The new Foundation, as incorporated in England, consists of representatives of the Jewish Colonization Association and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee is represented on the board of the Foundation by Bernard Flexner, Meyer Gillis, Herbert H. Lehman, Leonard George Robinson, Felix M. Warburg and Peter Wiernik. The members representing the Jewish Colonization Association are Leonard Lionel Cohen and Leonard Goldsmith Montefiore of London.

Mr. Locker, Dr. Rosenbaum, former Minister of Jewish Affairs in Lithuania, and Mr. Scherescewsky, member of the Polish Senate, left for Brussels to represent the East European Jewish communities at the meeting.
