The lists are now being published of persons who have been registered as citizens by the authorities. As was feared, large numbers of Jews have been excluded from the lists, particularly in the provinces of Bukowina and Bessarabia, among them many who have been resident in their present homes for the last twenty or thirty years. In the town of Hliboka, for example, only 48 Jewish families have been registered out of 200 families resident there. The same applies to the towns of Vijnitz and Lukavetz. The Association of Roumanian Jews is taking up the matter with the Government.
