About 400 prominent Jews in Poland, half of them representing the various non-Zionist sections of the population. attended a banquet given here today in connection with the campaign now in progress in Poland on behalf of the Palestine Foundation Fund (Keren Hayesod).
Prof. Rabbi Moses Schor. Chief Rabbi of Warsaw, was toastmaster. Addresses were delivered by Prof. Schor, Senator Trusker and Deputy Wislicki, both representing the non-Zionist Merchants’ Union, and Sholom Asch, the noted Yiddish author. Deputy Gruenbaum, Deputy Rabbi Dr. Thon and other representative of the Polish Zionists also spoke.
Mr. L. Yaffe, who is heading the Keren Hayesod campaign in Poland, as delegate of the Keren Hayesod headquarters, gave a report on the progress of the reconstruction work in Palestine.
