Tangiers Legislative Assembly Has Four Jewish Members

The legislative assembly of Tangiers, appointed according to the agreement concluded in Paris in 1923 for the purpose of administrating the city, has four Jewish members.

According to the agreement, the assembly consists of twenty-six members, six of which are Moorish, three Jewish, four Spanish, four French, three British and the rest according to the nationality of the local population. Besides the three Jewish representatives provided for in the agreement, one of the British representatives, Mr. Isaac Abensur, a local banker, is a Jew. He has rendered great service to the British interests in Tangiers.
