The Jewish population in the city of Kieff gained considerable representation at the new elections to the City Council. One-third of the newly-elected aldermen are Jews.

A circut court with proceedings conducted in Yiddish was opened, in view of the fact that the circuit court in Berditschew is overcrowed.
