While no statement was issued regarding the subject of the interview, it is understood the possibility of humanizing the present immigration law in line with President Coolidge’s recent recommendation to Congress was discussed.
Dr. Speneer Dawes of New York State Hospital in testimony before the House Immigration Committee’s hearing on Chairman Johnson’s bill to depart law-##ting aliens, made a plea to adopt legislation admitting over six hundred immigrant refugees who are at the internment camp at Southampton England which he recently visited.
