The charge of discrimination in the Palestine courts between Jews and Arabs was made by the “Falastin,” the official organ of the Palestine Arab Executive, the body which conducts the opposition to Zionism in the country.
The paper complains that in every issue it has occasion to publish official notifications of the execution of death sentences of one or more Arab criminals.
“We cannot remember having published or read any official statement with regard to the execution of a Jewish criminal,” the paper states.
The “Falastin” does not know how this can be explained. Declaring that it appreciates the upright character of the Palestine court, the paper expresses suspicion in connection with certain verdicts. “Were it not for fear of being guilty of contempt of court, we could mention trials where the verdicts differed according to whether the accused was a Jew or not,” the paper writes.
