Secretary of Labor James J. Davis will probably appear before the House Immigration Committee before a vote will be taken on the Perlman and Wadsworth bills to exempt from the quota members of the immediate families of citizens and declarants.
The correspondent of the “Jewish Daily Bulletin” learned today that in a conversation with Congressman Dickstein of New York, Secretary Davis stated that his opinion was that children under twenty-one of citizens and declarants should be exempt from the quota. As to the parents and wives of citizens and declarants, the Secretary has reached no definite decision yet.
Secretary Davis accepted the invitation of Congressman Dickstein to address the Grand Street Boys’ Association in New York on February 21.
