Newark to Launch Joint Campaign for $600,000

Jewish Daily Bulletin

A joint campaign which will be opened here on April 29, will seek to raise $600,000 for the United Jewish Campaign, the United Palestine Appeal and the local Conference of Jewish Charities.

Morris Scheck has been chosen chairman of the joint drive. The vice-chairmen are: Louis Bamberger, Michael Hollander, Aaron Levinstone, A. J. Dimond and William Kamm. Meyer Kussy, president of the West Side Trust Company of this city, has been chosen treasurer and Mrs. Leah Frank Segal, secretary. The chairman also has chosen an advisory board, consisting of Felix Fuld, Michael A. Stavitsky, Milton M. Adler and Messrs. Hollander, Levinstone and Kamm. The regular executive committee is comprised of 25 representative men and Mr. Scheck is planning the organization of a women’s executive committee.

Dr. Julius J. Rosenbaum, who had practiced dentisry in New York City for many years before his retirement in 1910, died at the age of 74. He was born in New York City in 1852. Dr. Rosenbaum served in the Civil War as a cadet. He was one of the oldest members of the Independent Order of B’nai B’rith, having been on the rolls forty years.
