At least 400 of the 4000 Jewish emigrants stranded at Constantinople and other ports will be admitted to Palestine as rapidly as possible, in consequence of an agreement between the United Evacuation Committee of Paris and the Palestine Zionist Executive.
The emigrants who have long been waiting for permission to proceed to Palestine, are to be assisted by the United Evacuation Committee. Each family is being provided with travelling expenses and a guarantee furnished to the Zionist Executive for their maintenance during their first year in Palestine. In addition, immigrants following certain trades are to be supplied with tools, and a certain sum of money is being deposited with the Zionist Executive, which may be used as a loan to help the immigrant to establish himself.
The Evacuation Committee has voted the sum of £8,000 for the transfer of these 400 persons to Palestine, part of the money already having been received by the Palestine Zionist Executive. Representatives of the Zionist. Organization at Warsaw, Libau, Riga, Danzig, Rotterdam, Southhampton, Hamburg and Bremen, have been requested to include the nominees of the Evacuation Committee in the labor schedule, “provided there are no legal, moral or physical objections to their entry into Palestine.”
