Renewed warfare is reported in despatches from Damascus received here today.
The rebels have concentrated in the Midan quarter where they have transformed the houses into fortresses and arsenals. Women and children have been removed from the quarter. The French are preparing a general attack on the city and bombarded the quarter of Midan today. In the fierce battle which followed the bombardment, 50 rebels were killed, the despatch states.
