Labor Legislation Proposed by Palestine Government Committee

Recommendations concerning the enactment of labor legislation in Palestine were made by a committee appointed by the Palestine government.

The committee, which was formed last October, submitted the following proposals, according to an official announcement made here yesterday.

(1) To institute a system of workingmen’s accident compensation; (2) to exercise closer governmental control of industrial enterprises; (3) to regulate the employment of children under 16; (4) to prohibit the employment of women and children in certain industries; (5) to prohibit night work in all industries.
