A decision to ask the Prussian Minister of Education, to induce Professor Theodor Lessing to resign his post at the Hanover Technical College as soon as possible was taken at a general meeting of the instructors of the College.
The resolution adopted by the instructors states that this step is necessary in order to “restore peace and order at the Hanover College.” Speaking of the attitude of the anti-Semitie students which have caused the trouble, the resolution declares that “in view of previous events, the strike of the student body against Professor Lessing is thoroughly understandable.”
The body of professors at the College published a statement in the press declaring that the resignation of Professor Lessing would be a capitulation before the students.
