Lebanon Jews Cooperate with New Government

A delegation representing the Jewish community in Lebanon, headed by the chief rabbi, called on Charles Debbas, newly elected president of the Lebanon.

The delegation assured the new president that the Jewish population will work for the welfare of the country. The president stated that he intends to accept Jews into the government service, just as members of any other community.

The new Syrian ministry, which is composed of the moderate elements, includes Ouassek Moyad, Minister of Interior, Shakib Mouyassar, Minister of Public Works: Abdulkader Azim, Minister of Finance and Saker Hanbali, Minister of Education.
