A declaration holding new promise for the national minorities in the Republic of Lithuania has been issued by the new government.
The declaration establishes the right of the national minorities to have an authonomous administration for their cultural and charitable affairs, for the purpose of which a system of self-taxation may be introduced.
Leaders of the Jewish population express satisfaction with the new government declaration.
