Port Fuad, the site mentioned for the proposed port for Palestine, which caused a wave of protest in the country, is a new Egyptian port located near Cantara. The port is not yet included on the maps.

Palestine public opinion was greatly perturbed over a statement of the manager of the Palestine railways that the harbor planned for Haifa might be built at Port Fuad instead.

The Hebrew press protested strongly against the projected change of plans, declaring that it would be detrimental to the interests of Palestine in the view of the Jews and Arabs alike.
