Ronald Storrs Given Higher Post in Cyprus

Sir Ronald Storrs, Governor of Jerusalem, will resign his post to assume a new position in Cyprus.

By an order of the King, Sir Ronald was appointed Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Cyprus, succeeding Sir Malcolm Stevenson, whose term expires shortly.

Jewish farmers from evelen communities in various parts of Connecticut participated on Sunday. August 8th, in a tour through Ellington and Vernon, where Jewish farmers operate some of the best tobacco, dairy and poultry farms in the eastern United States. A reception arranged in honor of the guests in the Ellington Town Hall was attended by nearly three hundred farmers and was addressed by Herman Bernstein, editor of the “Jewish Tribune,” Gabriel Davidson, general manager of the Jewish Agricultural Society, and the Honorable Philo T. Platt, Commissioner of Agriculture for the State of Connecticut.

Rabbi Israel M. Goldman of New York has accepted the call to the pulpit of the new $250,000 Temple Emanu-El, which is in the course of construction at Providence, R. I.
