The generosity of Jewish philanthropic organizations in Latvia was invoked today by General Nekludov, former Czarist general.

General Nekludov, who was formerly governor of Livonia and of the Kovno district under the Czarist regime, is now living in Riga in great poverty. In a request submitted to the Jewish deputy Nurok, he implored him to obtain the aid of Jewish philanthropic organizations for him as he is too old and weak to earn a livelihood. General Nekludov submitted proof in his letter that he had helped the Jewish population under the Czarist regime.
