Secretly maintaining a Jewish religious school in White Russia is punishable by a prison sentence.

In the town of Starodub, the court, consisting of Jewish Judges, sentenced the Jewish religious teacher, Abraham Kireshbin to two months at hard labor on the charge of having illegally conducted a chedar where eight children between the ages of six and ten were instructed by him in Hebrew.
