I. O. B. B. Lodges Will Commemorate Death Anniversary of Spinoza

The 250th anniversary of the death of Baruch Spinoza, which occurred at the Hague, on February 21st. 1677 will be commemorated by the Independent Order B’nai Brith by gatherings in all of the lodges of the Order during the current month, at which the dramatic lifestory of the philosopher will be narrated, and his philosophy discussed in the light of modern Jewish opinion.

The Spinoza program, according to an announcement by Alfred M. Cohen, president of the Order, is the first of a series of programs marking the anniversaries of great Jewish personalities which will be carried out by the B’nai Brith Lodges of the United States and Canada in the near future in accordance with the cultural program of the Wider Scope Committee of the Order.
