An alarming increase in the mortality among the Jewish population here has been observed.
During the last three months, the number of deaths among the Jewish population was twice as great as the number of births. In the past week 78 deaths and 22 births were recorded.
The cause for this situation is, it is stated, the spring epidemics and the general economic hardships suffered by the Jewish population.
