Simon Polakiewicz, former owner of the great tobacco factory of Grodno, committed suicide yesterday. He was 60 years old.
It was said that the reason for the suicide was worry over the loss of his factory, which the government took over under the tobacco monopoly. He also suffered from cancer, it was stated.
