A sentence of one year imprisonment was imposed by the District Court of Konotop on a Soviet official for conducting anti-Semitic propaganda.

The official, Kirkewitch, manager of a cooperative store, posted an appeal on the door of the store in which he urged the population “to unite against Jewish predominance” and “not to elect Jews to the cooperative board.”
