Extension of its program to increase religious activity among the Jewish youth was decided on by the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods at the annual meeting of the Execuive Board held Sunday at Union Temple, Brooklyn.
A country-wide religious survey will be undertaken. Alexander Cahn of New Haven, Conn., Chairman of the National Committee on Propaganda, will be in charge of the survey. Questionnaires will be sent to 20,000 Jewish young men in various educational institutions and elsewhere. They will be asked to state frankly their attitude on Jewish religious activity.
A study will be made of the replies and the necessary program will then be outlined and followed in an effort to increase religious activity among the Jewish youth.
The establishment of a Brotherhood Month was suggested. During this period special services and lectures would be part of the program at the various temples.
The National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods now has 17,500 members and 108 subordinate organization.
