Fixed Tax Determined for Palestine Plantations

Orange groves and other plantations in Palestine were freed from the tithe, the ancient Turkish taxation system which was considered a heavy burden by the colonists.

A new ordinance promulgated by the government today substitutes the tithe with a fixed annual tax.
