The clergy of Los Angeles has united in the support of the $2,750,000 Community Chest drive now in its full swing in this city, its object being to secure the 1928 minimum budget for 150 welfare agencies of Los Angeles, Jewish organizatons among others.
A proclamation, signed by church heads of the city, has been issued urging support of the Chest. Dr. E. P. Ryland, executive secretary of the Church Federation of Los Angeles, Rt. Rev. W. B. Stephens, Episcopal bishop coadjutor of Los Angeles, Rt. Rev. J. J. Cantwell, Catholic bishop of Los Angeles and San Diego, and Rabbi Edgar F. Magnin of Temple B’nai B’rith are the signers of the proclamation with its plea for unity of faiths and denominations in humanitarian work.
