Jewish literature in Braille writing will be introduced by the National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods, the headquarters of the Federation here announced.

A national committee will sponsor this work. Practically every section of the country will be represented on the national committee, whose membership will also include some sightless person. Mrs. Oscar Silberschmidt, of Cincinnati, has been appointed National Chairman.

It is planned to transcribe the Sabbath Services from the Union Prayer-book as the first step in this movement. This will be followed by other articles of popular and religious interest.

A preliminary survey conducted with the assistance of the Department of Synagogue and School Extension established the need for this literature. It also revealed the fact that no other organization has attempted this work.
