Ground will be broken next Tuesday afternoon for the Jules E. Mastbaum Rodin Museum to be erected here. The museum to house a Rodin collection was bequeathed to the city by the will of the late Jules E. Mastbaum.
Mayor W. Freeland Kendrick and the French Consul in Philadelphia, Rene Weiller, will be the speakers.
Construction on the building will be begun immediately. The museum will be one story in height and will occupy a site of one hundred by eighty feet. The facade will be constructed of marble to be carved and cut in France before shipment here. The building will be set in a garden, in the center of which will be a pool to reflect Le Porte D’Enfer. Rodin’s Conception of Adam and Eve will also be placed near the entrance. This arcade is a reproduction of the Rodin Memorial Archway in France.
