A motion “that the Board regrets the participation in the Prayer Book division in the House of Commons of members of Parliament of Jewish faith.” was put before today’s meeting of the Jewish Board of Deputies by M. I. London On a vote the motion was defeated.
“We are greatly gained” Mr. Linda said, “by remarks which are made outside our community concerning our religion and we should be the last people to participate in a division which is purely Christian and of a religious nature. If the Prayer Book were lose by two votes, when as in this cause there were only two Jewish Jewish votes against in it would have opened a very serious criticism against the Jewish members of Parliament in particular and the community in general.”

If questions of such a nature should be waved aside by the Jewish members of Parliament it would not help munch to the further elective of members of the Jewish faith to the House of Common Besides, every member is at liberty to vote according to his own conscience as be expects non-Jewish members of the House to do when Jewish questions are discussed in the House.
