Akaba, the Red Sea port mentioned in the Bible as Ezion Gever, and Maan, the two cities annexed from Hedjas and incorporated into Transjordania, British mandated territory, on July 1, 1925, are to be returned to Hedjas, according to a report published today by the Arab press.

The Arab newspapers state that this concession is now the subject of negotiations between the representatives of Great Britain and the Ibn Saud, leader of the Wahabis and conqueror of Mecca. The incorporation of the two cities into Transjordania three years ago called forth protests in Hedjas. The former status of the Hedjas railway is also to be restored if the negotiations are carried through.
