Anti-Semitism in the Charkoff district is on the increase not only among the reactionary sections of the population, but also among the workers, office employees and students, according to a report on the state of the Communist activity in the Charkoff district.
Things are very disquieting in regard to the question of anti-Semitism, the report says. One member of the Communist party attempted to justify his anti-Semitism by contending that even Karl Marx had been an anti-Semite. This Marxist, the report says, has been handed over for trial by the party committee.
A campaign has been started among the Communist groups to explain to them the real character of anti-Semitism. Special lectures on anti-Semitism have been organized by the Charkoff Central Committee of the Communist Party and are being delivered in all districts.
The report also complains of the slackness and lack of influence of the Jewish section of the Communist party in Charkoff.
