Only 51/4 per cent of the total number of Jewish soldiers in the Polish army, when given the choice of the regular army diet or a special kosher diet, give preference to the latter, the Polish Ministry of War reported to the Sejm during the discussion on the budget of the Ministry yesterday.
The special kosher diet for Jewish soldiers was introduced at the urgent request of the Jewish deputies, the Ministry of War stated. It appears, however, that out of the 11,263 Jewish soldiers, only 588 partake of the kosher diet.
