(Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

The Palestine Government was asked to promulgate a law prohibiting the marriage of girls below the age of 16, in a memorandum submitted by the Jewish Women’s Equal Rights Association.

The action was the result of the recent agitation in Palestine over the case of a Jewish girl of Acre, aged 10, who was given in marriage to ## Arab by her aged father notwith-standing the protests of her elder brothers. In government circles it was declared that the petition will be given sypmpathetic consideration.
