A decision to create a committee of rabbis and laymen to seek ways and means of eliminating the evils created in the kosher chicken market in New York City by the operations of an alleged kosher chicken trust, was adopted Wednesday afternoon at a meeting of sixty members of the New York Council of Orthodox Rabbis held at the Bialystok Center on East Broadway.

Rabbi Guzik presided at the session which was attended by Rabbi Feivelson, Rabbi Burock, Rabbi Zalmanovitch, Rabbi Shapiro, Rabbi Pfeffer, Rabbi Klein, and others. At the meeting many of the rabbis present severely criticised those responsible for the kosher chicken market scandal. It was declared that some of the rabbis were aware of the condition, but were prevented from voicing their opinions because they were in fear of gangsters. Some of the shochtim were also blamed for cooperating with the trust ring-leaders.
