Brooklyn Federation Calls Rabbis’ Conference on Communal Problems

Rabbis representing the largest congregations of Brooklyn will meet tonight at the Jewish Center, 667 Eastern Parkway, to conclude plans for the concerted participation of all Brooklyn temples, synagogues and Jewish centers in the Twentieth Anniversary Appeal of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities.

This conference, called by Judge Grover M. Moscowitz and Nathan D. Schapiro, Chairmen of Federation’s Committee on religious organizations, is the first of a series of meetings planned to present communal problems through the rabbis who will actively engage in Federation’s work. The campaign for $1, 035,000 will be launched on October 17, by the Federation.

The meeting will be preceded by a dinner arranged by Rabbi Louis D. Gross, Rabbi A. M. Heller, Rabbi Aaron Burack and Rabbi Israel H. Levinthal.

Among those who will attend the conference are: Rabbi B. Leon Hurwitz, Rabbi Samuel Peiper, Dr. Max Reichler, Rabbi Maxwell Sachs, Rabbi Jacob J. Newman, Rabbi Jacob B.
