Attempts to revive the ritual murder libel in Germany by anti-Semitic newspapers were frustrated by the action of the Federal Ministry of Justice as the result of the intervention of the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith.

The anti-Semitic newspapers in recent weeks attempted to present a number of mystery murders and attacks which were not cleared up by police investigation in various parts of Germany as “ritual murder cases.” The Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith intervened with the authorities who caused the state attorneys in the localities where the uncleared cases were recorded to issue statements as to the nature of the cases. Several such statements were published today giving full descriptions of the circumstances and persons involved. It appears that these cases had as their background sex deg neration. Ritual murder suspicion is out of the question, the state attorneys emphasize.
