Unnaturalized Residents of New Provinces Get Extension Jewish Telegraphic Agency)
An order attempting to regulate the aliens problem in Roumania on the basis of the registration carried out by the authorities was issued by the Roumanian government.
According to this order the unnaturalized residents are divided into two categories. The first category, including a large number of Jewish unnaturalized residents of the new provinces, is to be given an extension of residence for several years, provided each of them can prove that he has resided in the territory since the middle of 1914. The second category, including those who are in possession of Nansen passports issued by the League of Nations to “men without a country” will be given permission to remain in the country another year. A third category. including recent arrivals who are unemployed, must leave the country.
