Plans to hold a public demonstration to protest against the persecutions of the Jewish religion in Soviet Russia, and particularly against the activities of the Yevsektzia, the Jewish Section of the Communist Party, were formulated at a meeting Sunday morning of the Rabbinical Board of Greater New York, comprising 150 Orthdox Rabbis. The meeting will be held at Cooper Union, Wednesday evening, October 24.
Prior to the Cooper Union demonstration, “mourning services” will be held on Sunday. October 21, in ten different parts of the city at which rabbis and laymen will speak.
A committee of ten rabbis was named to make arrangements for the Cooper Union demonstration: Rabbi E. Inselbuch, chairman; Rabbi Abraham Miller, Rabbi M. A. Kaplan, Rabbi, A. D. Burack. I. Shatland, Rabbi E. Zalmenowitz. Rabbi C. Finkel, Rabbi O. Baumel, Rabbi L. Levine and Rabbi S. Sharf.
