Price Reduction on Artificial Fertilizers Will Result (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

The British firm, Gough’s General Distributing Co. Ltd., received a concession to exploit the phosphate minerals of Transjordania, it was learned here today.

A representative of the company, Captain de Valde who is now here, is proceeding to London to prepare plans for starting the work next spring. Captain de Valde, the report states, has investigated the resources and came to the conclusion that Transjordania possesses millions of tons of the best phosphates. The first shipment which is expected shortly after operations begin, may reach the amount of 100,000 tons. The result of the exploitation of the Transjordanian phosphates will be it was declared, a reduction in the prices of artificial fertilizers in Palestine and on the world market. It was estimated that the Transjordanian phophates can be sold at half the price of other fertilizers.
