The Bulgarian government was asked to take energetic measures to stamp out the ritual murder agitation which has been going on in one Bulgarian district.

The agitation was sponsored by the newspaper “Rodna Zachtita” in connection with a ridiculous tale spread among the mob in Haskova where a woman claimed that while passing in the street a Jewish woman pushed a lump of chocolate in her mouth attempting to choke her “for ritual purposes.”

The Jewish Consistory of Bulgaria addressed a memorandum to the Ministry of Religions asking it to take steps to dispel the libelous agitation and to issue an official statement proving the absurdity of such accusations.
