The town of Bidgocz, which claimed it had no poor Jews when a legacy was left to aid the needy Jewish population in the town, has now barred a Jewish actor troupe.

The local Jewish artisans’ society arranged a performance of the Warsaw Yiddish troupe. On the eve of the performance, after all preparations had been made and tickets sold, word was sent by the township authorities that the play could not be put on.
