A motion to confirm the Polish citizenship of all socalled “aliens” who were born in Poland has been introduced in the Sejm by Deputy Gruenbaum.

The fact of birth alone in Poland should be sufficient to acquire Polish citizenship. Deputy Gruenbaum contends in his motion, even though on account of the nationality of the parents the birth was registered in the books of another State. Many legal authorities, he said, have agreed with this view, as has also the Supreme Court. The Ministry of the Interior refuses, however, to accept this interpretation and denies citizenship to this class of persons, who are numerous in the frontier districts.
