The House Judiciary Committee in executive session yesterday voted to report to the House a resolution calling for the immediate appointment of a special committee of Congress to investigate the charges preferred by Congressman Somers of Brooklyn against Federal Judge Grover Moscowitz.

Chairman Graham of the Judiciary Committee will endeavor to obtain adoption of the resolution before adjournment of Congress. The action of the Committee came after hearing statements by Congressman Somers and Congressman Celler, who appeared in Judge Moscowitz’s behalf. Congressman Celler declared that Judge Moscowitz welcomes an investigation by Congress of his record and is absolutely confident of his exoneration of the charges preferred against him which he, on the Judge’s behalf, emphatically denies. A similar resolution was recently adopted in the case of Judge Francis Winslow of New York.
