Comsomolskaya Prada Charges Anti-semitism Among Party Members

The Russian press expressed great dissatisfaction over the verdict of the court in the case of three anti-Semites, Morosov. Zaicev and Alexejev, who were tried for persecuting the Jewish family Kovunovsky who lived in the same house with them.

Kovunovsky during their persecutions of the family, the judge decreed that the Jewish woman should pay a fine of thirty roubles. A fine of a like amount was imposed on the anti-Semites, the reason being given that this was not a case of anti-Semitism but merely a quarrel between neighbors.

The papers pointed to the persecutions which had lasted over a long period and which had the character of a systematic, anti-Semitic attack.
