Polish citizens who return from Palestine to Poland before they have obtained their final Palestine citizenship papers, may reclaim their Polish citizenship, according to a decision of the Polish Suppreme Court handed down today in the case of Mr. and Mrs. Wasserholz.

The Supreme Court reversed the rule of the District Court and the Court of Appeals, which held that the litigants forfeited their right to Polish citizenship because of an application filed for Palestinian citizenship. The Supreme Court held that because the litigants returned to their native country before Palestine citizenship was granted to them, they have not lost their rights.
