The Brazilian Government has decided to embark upon a policy of pacific penetration of the forests adjoining the Ica colonies in order to clear them of intruders who hide there and from time to time commit nuisances of a nature disturbing to the peaceful life of the agricultural population, states an announcement from the Jewish Colonization Association headquarters here.
Roads will be opened up in the forests. The adjacent tracts will be rapidly colonized and permanent police posts will be established in them. The Government has requested the support of the local Ica headquarters in the work and has invited them to a special conference to arrange an understanding with regard to the measures to be taken for the purpose of co-ordinating these efforts. The Ica will also proceed with work identical to that of the Government in the forest zones of its colonies.
