An appeal to Hebrew authors to form a Hebrew P. E. N. Club with the purpose of joining the International P. E. N. Clubs Association was issued by Sholom Asch, Yiddish, in an article appearing in the “Stimme.”
“Only then will we be able to present to world literature, the Jewish people’s creativeness in both languages,” he declares.
