Lady Oppenheimer, wife of Sir Ernest Oppenheimer, M. P. opened here last night at the City Hall a “Land of Promise Fete.”
It is expected that the fete will result in the raising of at least a sum of £5,000. The chairman. Dr. J. M. Edelstein, announced that a cable donation of £500 was received from J. W. Schlesinger, South African financier, who is now in London.
