Safed Perpetrators Concentrate in Tiberias; Continue Agitation

Arabs of Safed, who participated in the anti-Jewish massacre there, are known to be hiding in Tiberias, according to reports in Jerusalem today. These and other Arabs from other towns are circulating alarming reports among the Tiberias Arabs that the Jews propose to attack them. Several Arab families, acting on these libelous rumors, have left the Jewish quarters of Tiberias. Others depart at nightfall to sleep in the Arab neighborhoods. This is causing considerable panic among the Jews.

The Tiberias Jews have been further agitated because a Christian officer was reprimanded by his senior British and Arab officers for searching the house of an Arab notable for arms. This renders the situation increasingly difficult, as it is felt the Christian officer is bound to become indifferent. (Continued on Page 4)
